How To Take a Screen Shot and do a Reboot On Your iPad.

Screen Shots and Reboots are easy. Learn how.

Today's iPad cool tip is actually combining two features of the iPad. They are very similar in terms of button pushes but very different in terms of functionality. One is how to take a screen shot, which can be very handy when you are trying to describe something on your screen, you can take screen shot and email it to someone. The other thing is how to do a reboot. By reboot, I mean just like you would do on a computer. It is just like pressing CTRL ALT DELETE on a PC, it allows you to get out of a frozen screen. On the iPad, if you are using an app and the iPad totally freezes, there is a way out.

Going back to the first point. The first point is taking a screen shot. Uses of this, as I mentioned before, the most common one is that you might be trying to describe something on your iPad to somebody, something that you are doing at the time, something that you have written, whatever it might be. There might be a symbol or icon on the screen and you don't know what it means. What you can do is take a screen shot. It is quite simple. What you do is press the ON/OFF button on the top right of your iPad and then press the Home button once, that's it. The screen will flash white for just a moment, you'll hear a click sound unless of course you sound is switched off. That image will now appear in your photos. Now just click on the Photos app and touch the photos tab. The image will then appear at the bottom of the page. Touch this image and then you can share it in any way you choose, email, facebook or whatever you might be doing.

The reason that I have combined this screen shot tip with the reboot is that it is a very similar process. The reason for rebooting would most commonly be for a frozen iPad screen since any other time a reboot is needed, you can shut down the iPad in the normal way by simply switching it off. Ok, lets say your iPad is frozen. You have tried everything you can think of to unfreeze it, you have pressed the Home button, tried switching it off but nothing is working. With an iPad, you do not have the option of unplugging it or removing the battery so this tip is quite important. All you do to reboot is press and hold the ON/OFF button and the Home button at the same time. Keep holding the buttons down until you see the Apple symbol appear, then let go. Your iPad will now reboot.

Two simple and very handy features of the iPad.

Enjoy your iPad.
